Sarracenia ‘Scarlet Belle’ aka Hooded Pitcher Plants or Trumpet Pitchers
Sarracenia Scarlet Belle pitcher plants are tubular upright pitchers that have white hoods with deep red veining. The tubes contain a solution in the bottom of the pitchers which poisons the bugs that think they are drinking water. The plant then through absorption uses the nutrients from the decomposing bug to feed itself. We recommend placing the pot in tray of water once weekly or as the top of moss dries out and keep both the humidity and lighting high. We generally replant them into new homes using sphagnum moss or peat moss.
Pictures are examples of the size of plant you will receive. These plants are rooting in a 4” pot.
All plants are grown outside therefore leaves may show some environmental imperfections.
