Nepethes Miranda aka Pitcher Plant
The Nepenthes Alata aka pitcher plants have elongated pitchers that are mostly green with burgundy spots and hairs that run down the back of the pitchers. The pitchers form with closed lids until they are ready to eat, then the top opens emitting a pheromone while making the liquid inside able to be consumed by insects. The bottle shape makes it difficult for insects to leave and they are eventually dissolved by the plants juices. Pitcher plants thrive in a humid warm brightly lit environment keeping its soil somewhat moist. Please keep this variety in temperatures above 50°.
These plants are grown in a 8” pot.
