Nepenthes “Lady Luck” Carnivorous Pitcher Plant
The Nepenthes Lady Luck pitcher plants have fat oval shaped pitchers with colors from green to red-burgundy. Pitcher plants thrive in a humid warm brightly lit environment keeping its soil somewhat moist. The pitchers form with closed lids until they are ready to eat, then the top opens emitting a pheromone to draw bugs in enabling the pitchers to consume the insects. The bottle shape makes it difficult for insects to leave and they are eventually dissolved by the plants juices. Pitcher plants thrive in a humid warm brightly lit environment keeping its soil somewhat moist.
Pitcher plants will naturally have less pitcher production in the winter due to lack of as many bugs in the winter and a natural dormancy period for plants.
These plants are grown in a 4" pot.
