Maxillaria tenuifolia aka Coconut Orchid

Maxillaria tenuifolia aka Coconut orchid has long grass like leaves. We keep ours in orchid bark mix to keep the soil airy and they hang among our Vanda orchids both of which can take more light exposure than other orchids. They bloom around April each year bringing with it the scent of summer an coconut suntan oil!

White spotting on leaves is residual from neem oil spray used to control insects, mites and fungus.
