Dionaea Muscipula ‘Red Pirahna’ aka Red Venus Fly Trap
Dionaea Muscipula ‘Red Piranha’ isn’t your typical Venus Fly Trap with it’s deep red to maroon colors mixed with the contrasting lime green it makes a bold statement in any carnivorous bog garden or terrarium set up. We recommend placing pot in tray of water and add water to the tray as the top of moss dries out or you can use a terrarium/aquarium set up. We generally replant them into their new homes using a mix of 50/50 peat and perlite or sphagnum moss. If sphagnum moss is used be careful of root rot. We do not recommend the use of substrates containing fertilizers because it can burn the roots. Higher light exposure up to full sun will bring out more of the red tones of color on the foliage.
These plants are growing in a 4” pot.
